Privacy Policy

Data stored locally

All app data is stored locally on your device, as plain text files:

• Family profiles (names, avatars, dates of birth)
• Tasks and shopping lists
• Baby journal (feeding, diapers, sleep, medications)
• Medical appointments and consultation notes
• Health data (health record, growth tracking)
• Photos, memories, and notes
• Gamification points and history

Login credentials are stored in your device's secure storage, encrypted at the hardware level.

Synchronization

Cross-device sync goes through iCloud Drive or other sync services that you configure yourself. Family Vault does not manage synchronization directly.

AI Assistant (optional feature)

If you enable the AI assistant:

• An anonymized summary of your family data is sent to the AI service (Anthropic) to answer your questions
• Before sending, all personal data (names, doctors, locations, allergies, medications) is replaced with pseudonyms. The mapping stays on your device only.
• Responses are de-anonymized locally before display
• The access key is sent directly from your device to Anthropic (no intermediary server)
• Anthropic is based in the United States — data transits outside the European Union

You can disable this feature at any time in Settings > Artificial Intelligence.

Telegram Notifications (optional feature)

If you set up Telegram notifications:

• Your Telegram credentials are stored in your device's secure storage
• Messages and photos are sent directly to Telegram from your device
• Messages may contain family member names and task/meal summaries
• No intermediary server is used

Data collection by Family Vault

Family Vault does not collect any data for its own purposes:

• No analytics or tracking
• No advertising
• No cookies
• No user accounts or sign-up
• No proprietary server

Children's data

The app allows tracking sensitive information about children (baby journal, medical appointments, health record). This data:

• Stays on your device by default
• Is protected by the app's biometric/PIN lock
• Is never sent to the AI without prior anonymization if the assistant is enabled
• Built-in parental controls restrict child profiles from accessing sensitive data

Your rights (GDPR)

Since your data is stored locally, you have full control:

• Access: all your data is in readable text files on your device
• Rectification: you can edit your files directly
• Erasure: delete your files or use Settings > Delete Data
• Portability: your data is in a standard text format, readable by any editor

For data transmitted to third-party services (Anthropic, Telegram), please consult their respective privacy policies.
